Puri Rath Yatra is the famous Yatra which is organized in Orissa. Many people come to take part not only in India but all across the world. Puri Rath Yatra is dedicated to Lord Jagannath incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
This Yatra is held in Puri in the mother of June or July. Puri Rath Yatra is also known as Chariot Festival or Car Festival. Puri Rath Yatra one of the most awaited Hindu festivals by Krishna’s devotees. All the three chariots are decorated beautifully.

What is all about the Puri Rath Yatra :
People take a bath early in the morning. This festival is started with invoking ceremony. In Afternoon, the chariots are pulled on roads. All the roads get flooded with a number of people.
They all push three chariots which are possessed by Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Subhadra. The chariot of Lord Jagannath comes with 18 wheels while the chariot of Lord Balabhadra holds 16 wheels. Besides it, chariot having 16 wheels belongs to Subhadra.
How it is celebrated:
This Rath Yatra is considered very auspicious and that’s why a number of people come to take part in this Yatra. There is a total number of 3 deities are considered in this Yatra which are Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and their sister Subhadra.
They all three are worshipped. All the three are taken to the streets of Puri. To go along with this Yatra or taking a view of all three is considered pretty much auspicious. The 3 deities reach to their aunt’s temple namely Gundicha which locates 2 km away.
In this Rath Yatra, a number of people come from all across India. All the devotees take part in this procession and walked down to almost 2 km away since this Yatra gets end at Gundicha Temple. It’s good for health too. Walking helps to maintain your health, Devotees take part on a large scale.
